This Year's Theme

Inspired by the submissions of Becky Livaudais and McKinley Cantrell, the theme for this year's fest is Twist and Shuck -- uniting our local love of music and seafood. The weekend will be filled with games. rides, great music and, of course, delicious food. Musical entertainment will include Bag of Donuts, The Rockenbraughs, Dash Rip Rock and Topcats.

Raffle Information

The festival will also have a $1,000 raffle drawing. Tickets cost $1 each and are available from both the Parish Center and School Office. They also will be available after all Masses the weekends of October 15th-16th and November 5th-6th.

Sponsorship Information

Community support is needed to make our Oyster Festival a success. You can find a Sponsorship Form on our website. We have already received the generosity of many sponsors and benefactors. Thanks to all who have already sponsored prizes, cups, t-shirts, and booths. Thanks also to all who have donated needed supplies.

Volunteering

Another way to contribute to the festival's success is through volunteering. Taking one 3-hour shift at a booth would go far to make our 2011 edition a great experience for all. The webite to sign up for a shift is scroysterfestival.org, which will process time slots beginning October 10th. To allow for proper coordination, the deadline for volunteering is November 4th. It is a great way to become part of the festival and to even get service hours. If you are still interested in ways in finding other ways to help us "Twist and Shuck," please contact our Parish Center.

Purpose

The primary purpose of our annual Oyster Festival is to bring the St. Clement of Rome community together in fellowship and fun. Funds raised from the Oyster Festival are used to reduce gym and Katrina building recovery debt. With your support, we will not only "Twist and Shuck" away the weekend, but also help ensure a debt-free future for St. Clement Parish and School. The 2011 festival raised $89,495, which marks a 5% increase over the previous year. Come for the entertaining music. Come for the South Louisiana food. Come for the exciting rides. Stay for the St. Clement of Rome community.
