Formulario de Inscripción para RICA
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, or OCIA, is the process through which the Church welcomes new adult members. It is a journey that involves conversion of heart and formation in discipleship as members learn more about the Catholic faith and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Those who may join the RCIA program include those who are unbaptized, those who have been baptized in another Christian tradition, or baptized Catholics who have not been fully initiated in the Catholic Church.
Sessions begin in September and meet on Wednesday nights at the Parish Center at 7:00 p.m. Meetings last for about one and a half (1.5) hours. If you would like more information about our RCIA program and want to begin or continue your Christian journey, please contact Deacon Roy Ibarra at [email protected] or call the parish center (504) 887-7821.
What about children?
Since the RCIA is designed for adults, there are other opportunities for children that are more suited to their age level. If the child is under the age of seven (7), they should begin their Christian initiation with the Sacrament of Baptism in the normal manner. For more information please visit our Baptism page. If the child is seven years or older and has either not yet been baptized or has been baptized in another Christian tradition, they may be enrolled in our Children's Catechumenate. Please contact Deacon Roy Ibarra at [email protected] or call the parish center (504) 887-7821 for more details.
