St. Clement of Rome Parish was founded on August 14, 1965, by Fr. Blaise Vosbein, a priest from the Archdiocese of New Orleans. Our school was opened on August 28, 1968, by a group of Presentation Sisters from Ireland. The first Mass was celebrated with 596 parishioners in attendance. We now have over 2,000 registered families. The school, which opened its doors to 365 students, now has on average around 550.
Our parish began to thrive from the start. Many parishioners lovingly invested much of their time and effort. SCR quickly became a deeply spiritual community that prided itself in great service to God and neighbor. Today we are so pleased to have a vibrant parish that prayerfully celebrates beautiful liturgies and serves its members and the local community. As you look further into our website, you can learn about some of the numerous ministries and organizations that are at the heart of our parish. You also can find out more about the various ways in which you can help. Registration forms for parish membership, our School of Religion, and sacramental preparation can be completed online.
Let us know if there is any way we can serve you. As the Body of Christ, we are called to know, love and serve the Lord. And what better way to do that than united as one family.
St. Clement of Rome, pray for us! Rev. Joe Krafft, Pastor
